Restaurateur Kills Two Police Officers

Chiang Rai - A restaurant proprietor who resented the attention customers paid his wife shot dead two police officers and injured another at his establishment early yesterday.
Pol Sgt Direk Singla, who was attached to Chiang Rai police headquarters, and Pvt Sirichai Chaiprasert died on the spot at Krua Khun Ang Restaurant in Tambon Huaysak of Muang District.
Chanraem Khongmuang, 31, a technician with the Chiang Rai highways office, was shot in the head and seriously injured.
The restaurateur's wife Sirinya Kaewchoophan, told police her husband Boonyong, 46, opened fire on the three customers at about 2.30 a.m. and then fled in his Land Rover with his pistol.
