In the past 22 years I made 45.148 photos. I'll be posting some of them here once in a while.

Pain
Performance in an abandoned LandRover in Taling Chan, Bangkok, Thailand. 15 jan 1999
I found an article in the newspaper 'The Nation', of a 32-year-old man who had been deaf and mute for all his life. When a doctor in Hanoi performed an operation on his foot, and made the first incision, the man said "Oh my gosh, it's so painful", his first words in 32 years. I pasted the article in the back of an abandoned LandRover, then I made a cut in my foot and let the blood drip onto the floor.

The event lasted for two days, and there was a live band and drum'n'bass dj's playing continuously all day long. About 75.000 people climbed down to stroll through the tunnel.

Am I not Farang?
Two young fighters perform the Wai Khru Ram Muay ritual before a fight of Muay Thai in Ratchadamnoen Stadium, Ratchadamnoen Nok Avenue, Bangkok, Thailand. 02 jan 2000
During Wai Khru Ram Muay the fighters perform a kind of gracious dance, almost like birds, on the tunes of live music. The live band also plays during the fight, sometimes encouraging the fighters in their enthusiasm, sometimes rather lingering on when there's little action in the rink.

Don't Do Anything Illegal
An evening dinner with Sutee and Asarin and the lot in an undefined suburb of Bangkok, Thailand. 14 jan 2000
This is the last picture I took with my first Agfa digital camera. After the evening dinner I decided to go to the thieves' market. With Asarin as a guide we strolled around for a long time, trying to find good bargains in the pitch dark with nothing but candles and flashlights to see the goodies. I didn't find any exclusive items but found out that my camera was stolen.

Don't Do Anything Illegal
Season's Greetings from Jakarta, Indonesia. 17 aug 2003
I arrived in Jakarta on the day of the 'Merriott' bombing. On sunday local people would go visit the crash scene, in the midst of a large piece of wasteland. There was also a guy with pigeons in a cage. He would stick some kind of whistle in the back of their neck before setting them loose. They would usually take some kamikaze-like loops around the area, with the whistles as eerie high-pitched engine sounds, before heading home. That's entertainment.

It's a Flat Flat Planet
Shadows of wire on a concrete wall in a war museum in Oostende, Belgium. 19 aug 2001
Maybe you see further than I can see,
or maybe things just look differently
Maybe I'm nothing but a shadow on the wall
Maybe love's a tomb where you dance at night
Maybe sanctuary is an electric light
I get so tired it's like I'm another man,
and everything I see seems so underhanded
I don't see anything that I want,
and I don't see anything that I want
