The Suicide Disease

It's a condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia, or TN. It used to be called "Tic Douloureux". It's a disorder of the trigeminal nerve, responsible for sensations between the jaw and the forehead, and it causes sudden, intense facial pain.
Some say it's the worst pain known to man. In fact, the disease has an awful nickname: "the Suicide Disease."
There is no cure for Trigeminal Neuralgia, but it can be treated with anticonvulsants such as carbamazepine (Tegretol), phenytoin, or gabapentin (Neurontin).
